Febuwhump in Practice
Following Whumptober's model, Febuwhump issues a prompt list each February — entries like 'shaking hands,' 'left for dead,' or the beloved 'who did this to you?' — and participants post daily or selectively all month. The event gives the whump community a structured creative season and floods AO3 and Tumblr tags with hurt/comfort and angst, with alternate prompts provided for creators who want the suffering but not a specific flavor of it. Like all prompt-calendar events, completionism is optional and celebrated rather than enforced. Together with Whumptober, it brackets the year for whump creators, who treat the two events the way other fans treat exchange seasons.
